"The Nite Show Goes Home"
Nite Show host Dan Cashman reflects on the history of "The Nite Show." From its origins in 1997 in Old Town starting at the local community center and moving to the Knights of Columbus Hall, Bangor's WB affiliate aired the earliest version of the show, which went off the air in 1999. In 2001, the show returned on Bangor's UPN affiliate, recording at WVII's news studio in Bangor. That version of the show only lasted until 2002, with 135 shows recorded between the two versions of the show.
In 2010, the show returned, this time on WABI-TV5 in Bangor, and WPME in Portland. Today, as the show celebrates its 20th anniversary, it's seen by more people than ever before, continuing to run on TV5 in Bangor, and now being seen on CBS 13 and FOX 23 in Portland, and FOX 8 in Presque Isle.
